I have an itch for another project but would like small displacement but I want FI.
Is the SV650 too obvious an answer for you?
too big. something smaller.

Ninja 400, oh yeah! 11:1 comp, 8-valve, dual piston front/single rear brakes, and fuel injected. Not much of a project but at least it's smaller than a SV and FI.
I WIN!!! :woohoo: :cookoo:
I thought we were talking about Forced Induction o.o
MegaSquirt...that's a project in of itself though. One of these days if I'm bored enough I'll attempt it on the GS.

Interesting. I've never seen a Ninja 400. Got to do some research on cost.
250 is too small. I want something close to a 500.

That's because the Ninja 400 is a 2011 bike, and it's not being sold in the U.S.
aren't the 450s FI now?

I was lead to believe it was a sleeved down 650R engine, which is sold here.

America gets the crap end of stick in regards to cool bikes...........
Dunno if you get these over there but here is Australia we have these -

Or import the Ninja 400 from Canada in 2011.
It seems the manufacturers use Canada as a North American test market for everything.

USA was offered 400 fours in the late 1980s and early 1990s. USA didn't like them at all, except for a very few unusual buyers. Bike makers gave up and pursued big bore cruisers which is what sells in the USA.
Your average person in USA knows nothing about bikes and if are among the few who start thinking about it they go look at Harley then buy cheaper Japanese equivalent and ride it 3,000 miles in three years and then they leave the sport. On average.
1990 FZR400 is now collectible, most were raced and trashed. There are still a handful of clean low mile GSX4000s here for around $1,000-1,500 USD, and the even rarer CB1 pops up now and then. We never got the 250 fours.
My friend has a 2009 CB400 superfour. While it is twice the price of my GS it is a very nice bike to ride. The Vtec certainly does put a smile on your dial when it kicks in and it is such a nimble little bike. Only problem for me is that it is quiet low and gets very uncomfortable (me being six three)

That's a great looking bike. Maybe it stands out just because of its modest size and simplicity. Is it just me or is the styling VERY similar to the 500E, with the wheel style, the high mirrors, etc?

Down Oz, there are grey importers who bring in CB400s from Japan as obtained from the Japanese market, not made specifically for Aust. Usually older models. And way Way WAY cheaper than Honda's price for a new 400.
