How fast did you go?
you once went so fast your tacho cabled jumped off the bike and lay down with its core lying beside it?
i dont understand
yeah.... Ive been to 180mph and THAT never happened. I think thats an old or unlubed cable.
I once went so fast that I ended up in this weird parallel universe where people thought that going fast made tacho cables fall off. I couldn't wait to get back home.
looks like one of the ends snapped off (bottom end).
replaced cable and do it again. :D
is that what thats a picture of? just a broken tach cable? you know that would have nothing to do with how fast your going. maybe how fast the engine is turning. like if your in neutral idleing and all of you sudden you open the throttle all the way and dont let go maybe itll break if its old and unlubed. you could break a tach cable rolling backwards if you wanted haha. then you post up "look how negative fast i was going"
On a long trip my speedo cable vibrated apart. I pulled into a rest stop, pulled the other end off, grab some paper that was blowing past the bike, got the can of lube out of the back pack, pulled it apart, re lubed it put it back together and was great. Hasn't let me down since. I"m not sure where I"m going with this story.
On another note, how do you lube your tach and speedo cables?
Unplug both ends of the cable, wrap a rag around the bottom, and get a cable lube tool from Motion Pro (about $9). Attach the tool to the top of the cable and spray some lube into the tool - it will force the lube throughout the cable.

or you could hang it somewhere and put some oil in one end and let it sit overnight while gravity does it's work....at least that what I heard.
i just spray lube down one end out of an aerosol can and spin the cable with my hand as i spray. ive never had a problem.
I once went so fast that I brought home two cups from one race.

How fast did you go?
I obviously go alot faster then that cause when I get home all the dirt and dust has been blown off the bike.
I have a tendency to go so fast that my passenger foot pegs get blown into their upright position, and then when I catch the next red light the vibrations from the engine at idle make them fall back down.
i tend to go slower when checking over the bike.. that way i dont miss the maintenance issues and loose bolts etc :icon_mrgreen:
I went so fast once that the colors started blending so bad that all I could see was red and blue. :nono:
I dont really think that your going too fast... I think your not slowing down enough to do PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE :cookoo:

I went that fast and more so, bolt for the muffler vanished too!
I once went so fast...
How fast?
Well, both tires were turning at the same time. I know, fast eh?
And not only that - but - after a few hours I had to refill the gas tank. I know, screaming.
And and and.... I had to close my visor. Hmm hmm. Yep. That's like real quick and stuff.
So fast that, you know how when you go fast the needle thingy is pointing right up. Well, it was now pointing up and a bit to the right. That's how fast I was going. Bugs were splattering on my visor. I was passing trees and road signs like they were standing still. Flying, I tell ya.
