Post by: TommyGunz on August 24, 2010, 12:30:34 PM
I am about to perform my first oil change on my 2006 GS500F. Just needed to know the oil capacity. :dunno_black:

Thanks,

Buy 4 though as you will likely need a little more and may have to top off between changes.

The manual for the 09 says 2900ml - 3.1 Us qrt or 2.6 Imp qt. Note, if changing the oil only then only 2600ml (2.7 US qt or 2.3 Imp qt)

There's a link in the Wiki under Maintenance where you can download a PDF of the user manual if you don't have one.

Throw in 3 qts....forget the "point one"

Remember to check the oil level with the engine warmed up, then stopped for three minutes...........bike level, side to side, but on its own wheels...not on center stand ...........oil cap unscrewed and put in place......

Overfilling can be a lot worse than low oil..........
