Title: Tracking your motorcycle route
Post by: plewis51 on August 27, 2010, 07:08:50 PM
So I have a Droid X phone and one of the Android apps in the market is called "My Tracks". You start the program on your phone and it tracks your route using Google maps. It uses GPS so it will take a pretty hefty about of battery power but if your only using it for a few hour trip I am sure it will be okay. I have a 12 volt adapter that I can use to keep it powered as I travel though. The program will upload your track directly to Google maps and Google Docs (excel). It lists lots of statistics such as travel time, elevation changes, speed, minutes of riding and stopped, etc.... See the graph below for a preview of the stats. I did not show my map because went straight to my place of living which I really don't want to show if I'm making something public.

Use your phones barcode scanner to get this from the market:
