has or does anyone on here use a slipper clutch like that in link? GS is not listed on this particular site, but it may be available somewhere. i personally think i would like a regular clutch better but my friend who dirt bikes alot says if i tried one i'd like the slipper much better. Is just an off road/ racing thing? or do people like them for everyday driving too? whats your vote
EDIT:
HOLY CRAP I JUST SAW THE PRICE NEVER MIND FELLAS!!!!
I love engine braking, every time I use it I think how I'm saving brake pads!
If you feel you need or would benefit from a slipper clutch on a normal streetbike there is something very very wrong with your style :dunno_black:
For a supersport motorcycle on the track, a slipper clutch is that extra level of protection in case of a botched downshift. Helps ensure that the rear tire doesn't brake loose by not matching the engine speed to the speed of the back tire correctly. For street use on a GS500 though, it should not be an issue. Learning to rev match on downshifts properly is a pretty important skill to have anyways without the use of a slipper clutch.
You would have to really try to lock up the back wheel with a rough shift on the gs. I dont think the gs makes anywhere near enough power to consider a slipper clutch. even if they were cheap
