Just had a group of high school girls yell out "we love your motorcycle!"
I had to look around and make sure there wasn't a Ducati behind me or something. Now I feel like the Fonz. I think I'll go see if I can get a free song out of a jukebox.
Lol, makes me hella happy everytime I get a compliment. I was behind a CBR600RR today and he was revving up his bike with the stock exhaust and I rolled up next to him and revved up the GS with the Yoshi and he was like "Goddamn, that thing is loud!" I take it as a compliment :p
Most people think the F is a gsxr. The ladies love it. On occasion as I'm stopped at a turn, some ladies will walk by with a "that's so hot" or they'll let out an orgasmic "Oh my god". And I'm like  and :kiss3: and :icon_twisted:. Just kidding ;)
As far as looks go the GS F gets really good compliments.

We were on the road on Saturday, maybe a dozen of us. As we pass a bunch of high school kids picking up trash on the shoulder the ride leader signals a right turn. We all raise our arms for the guy behind us. Kids see us, think we are giving them some sort of salute, and all start cheering us.
Was pretty funny...
Yeah I think it's funny when people compliment me on my F. I'm normally like, "What this piece of crap? I'll sell it to you for $2500."

may the funniest thing ive read on here this week so far :icon_mrgreen:
I pulled up next to a mini van in July, and the three guys in there were talking to each other (couldn't make out what they were saying because of ear plugs and helmet)...they said something a little louder, probably meant for me to hear, and all laughed...kinda pissed me off ...light went green and I left them there :icon_twisted:...then I realized they were probably talking about my jacket gloves helmet and boots...ventilation works well when moving...anyway, I kinda realized that they weren't laughing at the bike...and really any bike is more cool that rolling in a minivan with your buddies :flipoff:...I bought my GS because I liked the look of the naked bike, so I would imagine there are more people out there that also like the look of them.
Don't be ashamed of your bike...atleast your riding, and it's way way cooler than any econo-box car that would get close to the mileage and you can keep up to some pretty sporty cars to boot...as for impressing the high school girls...well, they are the ones that are vocal about it, you are probably impressing more women than you think...just remember, women are a lot more subtle about it than we men are, they can be checking us out and we don't even know it...
Later.
I had a chick at a gas station ask me if mine was a Ducati :icon_rolleyes:
I told her its what ever she wants it to be as long as she gets on for a ride. :kiss3:
This same girl later said that Ducati is to sprotbikes like Harley is to cruisers. I corrected her by informing her that ducati's do not fall apart while riding them.
This all seriously happened, this girl loved harleys and thought all sport bikes were ducatis.
Just the other day I was on the 919 ana lady with her 2-3 year olds with her n a parking lot the kids just started going nuts "mommy mommy motorcycle! Motorcycle!" get kids from 2-20 going nuts over the bikes. Being married to a good looking women that rides bikes, quads, ect highschool girls going gaga over the bike don't get a second nod from me. A wave to be freindly. I'll lift a wheel for the little guys though they love it or make sure to drag a knee.

Having a 919 I have a lot of non sport bike riders mistake the thing for a Duc. For the Harley guys that think the only thing to ride is 850 bls of of chrome and misfire I tell them it wouldn't matter any way even my 9er wil win that fight o 1 cylinder.
Not calling all harley guys idiots just the ones that get bent outta shape when your 2 wheeler doesn't say Harley Davidson on the side. I have a deep love for the sound of a twin just not one with a mismatched firing order and inherent design flaw in the crank.
Harley riders call all the faults of their bike "Charm" :icon_lol:
It's nice this time of year cause everyone goes back to college and I have to ride through campus anyways. I normally don't like attention when it come to my motorcycle, but sometimes it's nice to the smile on everyone's face. That's the best thing about our little hobby/passion; it makes other people happy :thumb:

Around here it seems most women associate danger with idiots.
Honestly though I've never gotten any comments from women about my bike. Most sportbikes ridden here are by teenagers so I think motorcycles are just a part of the teen craze.
I've been commuting to work - I work in IT at a large bank call center where lots of young people work. Leaving work the other day, two attractive twenty-something girls walk by as I'm warming up my 500E and one says: "Hey, WE want a ride!"
Doesn't seem like much. But when you're 53, it's pretty cool.
Hey man, at 40 I get a kick out of that stuff...my wife would be pissed, but I don't mind getting waved at by the high school and college girls...they're nice to look at :icon_twisted:...it'll freak me out when my daughter hits that age though...
Just take the compliments as they come, and don't read into them...lol...or you may end up embarassing yourself, maybe not...but I would rather feel good and ride away, go home and chase the wife around...lol

yeah, there are always better looking women than the one ur with, but at least u can stand the one ur with and they let u have sex with them :) haha.
Motorcycles are just cool, any way you figure it. They're fast, they're dangerous, they sound cool (even a 25hp 250 with an exhaust sounds super powerful), they usually look cool (lots of chrome and sharp angles), motorcycle gear -- especially jackets and helmets -- look awesome, 2up riding with a girl is probably the MOST intimate form of transportation, and more than one badass has been known to ride one.
Even though it's a GS, we're still in the club.
There was 2 or 3 kids (guys, 13-ish) on the side of the road one day motioning for me to pull a wheelie as I passed them. Yeah, if they only knew. :thumb:
Yeah I haven't gotten very good at wheelies with the GS so I just ignore the requests.

i find it hard to get the 500 of the ground but putting the 9er down in second does it with a flick of the wrist and a little clutch in third goes a long way. I normally ignore idiots asking for a wheelie though. 99 out of 100 it's not a safe place to do one. though I have gone by one wheelin for a couple kids. They light up like the fourth of july for that stuff.
the older I get, the less I care what anyone thinks. I like my GS...it's fun, it was cheap, it goes as fast as I need it to. Insurance is like $200 a year. And since Buddha rebuilt my carbs it runs with a button push. I like it.
If you're worried about someone making fun of your motorcycle choice then get ready for a long, hard life.
Now, if they are making fun of you when you're off the bike, you may have a bigger problem.

Never had any intention of doing anything - if you knew my wife you'd understand why...
Just nice to be noticed. And let's face it. Anyone who says that they don't own/ride a motorcycle at least in part for the "cool factor" is not being completely honest!
I hear ya, it's nice to think they are interested even thought there are absolutely not intentions (maybe a fantasy moment :icon_twisted:, but no intentions)...lol...and yup, even a GS500 makes me feel cool...unless your car is an exotic or a collector, it's hard to out cool a bike...just for the attitude it projects.
My truck is pretty cool looking, but I feel cooler on the bike...I almost changed to a cruiser for the cool factor, but have decided I don't want to grow up just yet...sporty is more fun... :thumb:
Best compliment I ever got got was the first day I rode to work here in Houston. I park next to a (well traveled) Honda ST 1300 and as I am dismounting the rider looks over and says "I like that, I like that a lot." Just goes to show that real riders appreciate what they see.
Keep the shiny side up,
Chuck
Ladies seem to like mine :) the day I got mine a bunch of my friends that happen to be girls were begging for rides. As much as I hated to I denied that because I hadn't a clue what I was doing lol, that has since changed though.
Regarding random women/chicks/girls I have gotten the obligatory "girl shouting and cheering while I drive past" and general staring from girls in the parking garage at school and such.
This stuff doesn't happen ALL that time most likely because there aren't many girls out on the twisty back roads.
What really helps is that the average attractive girl doesn't have a clue about motorcycles, only that they look cool.
Yes and this is bad...how again?? Not that I look for them but it's fun to get waved at!! LOL
They all want to look, even if they don't. They all say they want a guy that is safe and secure, but what they really want is freedom. The funniest times are when they are with their significant other and they rubber neck as you drive past.

But her top was a halftop tank top, the jeans were a little lower with her lacey G-string showing quite a Lot and he single braid dangling down her back and she had no gloves on. I was on the sidewalk while she was waiting to roar off onto the traffic. Nice eye-candy ... but not for riding a bike. :nono:

Yeah I'd have to say thats pretty sexy.... for a motorcycle magazine add. But I think its even hotter when someone blows by you in complete gear tinted visor then pulls up at the same gas station as you to fill up and pulls off a helmet and its a hot chick..... mmmmmmm

Gunshot sensors? Where the heck do you live?
troy, ny
microphones on some intersections triangulate where the shot was based on the time it recorded the shot
We have stuff like that on our schools, they set off a silent alarm and police arrive shortly there after.

There this one super hot chick wearing a half top jacket thing on a crotch rocket, wearing low-cut jeans and a one-piece thong lingerie under everything. The thong was clearly visible and I can accurately imagine what the rest looked like. HOT chicks on bikes :thumb:
Saw a girl on a CBR1000 yesterday! Squidded up in a black tanktop, but hot none the less!
Okay everyone, we're all thinking it, I'm just saying it, from now on, pics or it didn't happen. I don't want to hear about how you saw some chick on a bike unless you have conclusive photographic evidence to support it.

I got my GS from a girl I knew in high school... Here's a pic of her posing with it, she always rode with full gear though and has had her hair cut pretty short the last few years. Hard to tell it was a hot chick until she stopped and took off the helmet.

Did she get another bike? I see too many teenagers around here with bikes that are too big for them. That's a problem.
I'm trying to get past the sterotypes by not giving a damn about what anyone says about riding a bike. Those people are usually not exciting, and just downright boring.
She is getting another bike in a year or so, I'm not sure what though. She stopped riding because she is 8 months pregnant now and needs to take care of herself and the future wee one. Her and I are both 21 so no longer teenagers, though we're both still young. She lost her father in a motorcycle accident back in '04 or '05, and since then, has always been a responsible rider who knows her own limitations and rides within them.
Also, to those who say the bike is cleaner without decals, it is even cleaner naked. I'll get pics up just as soon as I get the rest of my parts in (shipping is taking forever) and paint the exhaust.
hooly dooly!!.... oh wait.. the bike is gonna be nekkid... dang! :icon_twisted:

I'm actually going to use the stock headlight, because I can't afford the Buell set that I want, and I'll be running mirrors with integrated turn signals. I would like to toss an SV tail section on it, but then I'd have to extend my swingarm so it doesn't look like I got rear-ended. Maybe someday, but right now, I need transportation, so mods are done for the time being.
With the exception of ducati rears and a handful of really awesome custom fab jobs, 90% of the rear end mods I see on the GS look ridiculous. The GS is just too small to fit rear ends from most other bikes on it and have it not look weird.

That's the biggest obstacle looks-wise on the GS. I've been trying to find something that looks great and still can sit 2-up. Most of the tail swaps look silly IMHO.
