Lock set and fuel cap:

Just snapped it up...Thanks for that.  I just got the tank.  Looks like another POR 15 job but no dents is good.  Already going to have to paint my ebay fender.  Might as well make a day of it.

Any tips on matching the colors on the factory plastics on an E.  I am debating changing color as I have seen some pretty sweet looking paint jobs and thinking about having some air brush work done.  Maybe keep the bike yellow monochromatic....with a red maltese cross on the tank.

Will be buying a gun and trying my hand on base/clear for the first time although I have had decent results with rattle can in the past.

What is the process on auto paints.  I know Home Depot has a photo eye that will match it.  Same for automotive paints?

Thanks again adidas for the sharp eye on the tank.

Be safe.

Scott

I'm not sure about matching colors. I've ordered some to see how they are and ordered a color chart. If we could get Suzuki color codes it would be easy.
This place seems to carry everyone's paints and color kits:

I ordered various clear coats from them to try to fond one that works on plastics. Fortunately, I have some extra crappy side panels to test on. Trick is getting a good clear with UV protection that doesn't harm the plastic or lift the decals. Plastic is not just "plastic". There are so many types and some side panels are plastic that were originally painted by Suzuki.

Glad you got that tank. It looks good. If it is clean inside, I wouldn't try coating it. A paint guy at Aurora Suzuki says there is a 50% success rate in doing that so he won't do it anymore.

I found this forum. You might post paint questions there:
