OK, I am having a bunch of Powder Coating done and 1 of the items being coated is the Clutch Side Cover. I have a few questions:
I removed the signal generator assembly as the side cover had to be completely disassembled for Powder Coating, am I going to have any issues with timing now that I removed it, without making an reference marks? I removed it as a complete unit. Looking at it, it appears it can only go on one way? When taking it off, I rotated the motor a complete turn, will this effect the timing of the bike? Otherwise nothing else is removed or has been touched in the valve train timing area.

Secondly, in the Clutch Cover, beneath the Signal Generator area, there is a hole in the Clutch Cover were I pushed a Oil Seal out again for Powder Coating, though it looks OK I want to replace it, yet it is not listed on Ron Ayers Microfiche, all it lists is the Clutch Cover itself, I cannot seem to locate it in the Fiche, does anyone have the part number/name of this seal?

The signal generator is timed to the crank by way of a pin in the end of the crank that is parallel to the crank axis. It can only go back together one way. Unless you loose or break the pin you really cant go wrong.
The seal is described as "Crank oil seal" # 472233-001 and shown as part 12 on the crankshaft fiche. Cost is bang on £4 here in the UK, so expect to pay about $6.50 in the US.
The seal dimensions are ID-22mm OD-40mm Depth 8mm. You might be able to pick one up for much less at a Bearing supplier.
