Two brothers steal their dad's 1969 Norton out of his basement, restore it, then give it to him for Christmas...

I THINK MY KIDS NEED TO WATCH THIS MAYBE GIVE THEM SOME IDEAS!!! Totally Awesome, and such a beautiful classic.
Awesome video. Ive been to that shop, right around the corner from my friends house in VT. They have some nice bikes.... Luckily for me my dad keeps his bikes running, so no restore gifts from me.

I so love these bikes.
I showed my mate this vid and he said " I wonder if I gave my kids a box of Suzuki parts I would get a Norton for Xmas?" Made me lol.

No prolly not, but if you gave them a bunch of yamaha parts - more specifically xs650 parts, you can get a triumph.
I swear I saw one in the same yellow I am doing on mine in near about the same shape as mine will be if it wasn't just in my mind, parked next to an rc30 and a cbx @ the local dealer today ... Man was it cool. Yea rc30 and cbx who cares, xs650 we're drooling over.
Cool.

Yeh a few people here in Oz are doing up the old Yamaha SR400's and 500's as cafe style racers. There are a lot of after market support to help you build one.
Very nice

You get these over there Buddha? Kawasaki W650. A Bonnieville clone but it is Japanese so it should not break down =p

A w650 is so damn rare it costs near about what it did when it was new. In contrast a xs650 is under a grand in running shape. The xs has no limit, nothing is considered holy nothing is considered a classic. I'd build myself the brit bike of my dreams ... BTW the aussies wrote the book on modding xs motors. That 270 crank pin was a masterpiece ... however I did a 277 on mine. I hope to have my xs in running shape for under a G, sell it, recoup most of my $ and then build the 277 for under a G and use it.
I actually see a lot of cafe or flat track xs'es from au or europe, and the american xs'es are usually choppers. IMHO the chopper xs looks idiotic.
Cool.

You ever posted any pics of your XS? I love the Cafe style bikes.
That's an awesome story. I wonder how much the restoration cost.

I was thinking the same thing.
Here is a nice example of an XS650 cafe racer - http://www.bikesales.com.au/all-bikes/dealer/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=9224310&keywords=&trecs=4&__sid=12BB24E946A3&__Ns=p_RankSort_Int32|1||p_Make_String|0||p_Model_String|0||p_YearMade_Int32|1||p_PriceSort_Decimal|1&__Qpb=true&__Nne=15&SearchAction=N&seot=1&__N=1432%20604%201430%201429%201428%204294967267%204294966034&silo=1400
