Title: Controls.......what works?
Post by: 89Decepticon on October 02, 2010, 06:11:32 PM
Well finally getting around to last years winter project. Got a new top plate for my tripple-tree, I have an 89 and I want to switch to a standard bar, something with a low rise, maybe even drag bars. I'd like to have the whole set up ready to go and just do a switch, was considering getting newer controls, and levers....and the likes. what will fit? what will work? I hate the brick that is the front reservoir.....what would be a swap without changing brake calipers. May consider selling the clip-ons to pay for this. whats a fair price to ask for it?

suggestions.

The reservoir is a pain in the ass to make fit if you install drag bars. I found that out. There is a sweet spot where it does fit but I would be interested in hearing of any smaller ones that fit too.

ask adidasguy about the price for it, he might be more helpful in knowing prices

I've been looking through more posts and it seems that the 1st Gen SV clutch and perch will bolt right on, what about brake lever and reservoir? Mine are mashed up anyways from previous owner and myself dropping......so if I am doing a new set up.....might as well look into this.

I like the look of yours twisted. It looks as though if you used something with a low rise you may have been ok with clearance.....am i wrong?
