For those that were thinking of doing the dual under belly exhaust setup and wanted to know what type of mufflers I had I think I found them on ebay. They are not the exct replica but are the same size and come in two colors.

Thanks for the link. I like the looks.
What does it sound like?
Or did I miss the video?
do you have a build thread? i want your bike :D
build thread and sound clip is here...and BTW she now idles perfectly at 1300 with some advice from gs members. before she would idle perfectly at 850 but shifting was very hard.

FYI you have best looking faired GS here. That thing is awesome. Get a dual rotor FE and your all set! I showed a friend this thread and he wondered why you would spend time like that for a 500. Well now its just as good looking as a gixxer and our bikes are just as fun to ride!

Thanks!! The FE is coming soon.
Ask your friend if his 600 or litre looks like any other bike out there. I built this one to be unique and I have the only one unless you live in Brazil. Alot of people mistake it for a 600 and if it wasn't for the tank decal they wouldn't know what it is. I'm reminded on my morning commute of how fun the GS is because it is so light and flickable.
Total build cost with bike is around $3000. I guess I could have bought an older 600 for that price.
What bodywork is that? I'm looking to skin my GS race bike, and need to know what fits well. I'd prefer not to get 600cc bodywork, simply because it's way wider than necessary for the bike.

Would not recommend them. Customers service is horrible and you will never get any money back/refund or replacement part. Some GS members here can attest to that.
Thanks for the warning. I'll pass, then.
Yeah... Seamax was lucky in getting his bodywork, these guys are hard to deal with even for us brazilians, what to say for you guys thousands miles away.
Seamax, you were lucky it fitted well, many pieces don't even do that. They have videos at youtube showing how easy is to mount the bodywork on your bike, just hilarious that not a single screw fits well, and then a cut later everything is perfect. lol
btw, it is for sure one of the best looking GS's i've ever seen!congrats!
My question is, with my rejet, could I even use those mufflers?
I'm about to go through hell (So I've been told) with re-jetting for this underbelly exhaust, I'll keep a log of the jetting to help others who may go down this road, or those who just want a good laugh....
The cans themselves are gutted out KX65 Dirt bike units, cores wound with HD steel wool. I liked them for the textured end caps, short length and the angle cut of the end caps. Most KX 65 owners immediately take of the stock cans and replace them with high dollar aftermarket units, I think I got both of these, brand new condition, no use, for under a $75 shipped. I used the stock headers, made a few cuts, welded on a few couplers, and am somewhat satisfied with the results, at least looks wise. Jetting, and keeping them sealed will no doubt be an issue.

Tomorrow will bring the Swingarm/Shock install, and yes, more pics.....
I forgot to ask. Um how are you going to overcome the non-balanced exhaust? I have been ridiculed for giving non factory advice and I think there is a reason for the tube between the exhaust?? Correct me please.

I believe they put the cross tubes in the exhausts to equalize the pressure/waves and or help with scavenging, not really sure...
I wasn't running the stock header anyways, it is a Hindle Unit and is 2 separate pieces down to the collector where it goes 2 into 1....
I cut that collector piece off and used couplers to attach each individual down tube to the silencers, they way I figure it's a completely separate exhaust for each cylinder...

In no way am I confident that this set up will work right, or be easy to get jetted, and I may have to go back to a stock set up or something engineered for the bike, but for now I'm just trying things, if I get it wrong, I learn, and I move on....
Hum I am very curious to see how this turns out. :dunno_black:
