Post by: South East Rocket on November 02, 2003, 03:26:21 PM
I know that we got Yosh and Vince & Hines...  But what else do we have???

Any websites where I can see all my options?

Cobra makes a sweet slip on in 2 nearly-identical styles.

F1R has no tail, just a hole at the end of the can
F1S has the little snout.

Both have a very nice sound, are probably more free-flowing than stock, eay install, and should run around 140 bucks.  Try motorcycle accessory warehouse.

I like the Hindle I picked up from a lister. 3 lbs. lighter than the Yosh, nice sound, and the performance is similar.

Of course they don't make either the Yosh or the Hindle anymore.

Why powder coat the rims?

btw- I just had that priced out and was shocked at the $125/wheel price! Luckily, when I opened the bos with my gsxr rear wheel it was already silver! Woohooo.

Does anyone have a D&D muffler, they are a manufacture in Ft. worth Texas.  I saw one on a Duc that someone on the board has, I am just curious if anyone has one installed on a GS.  I am going to find out in a couple weeks if they make one for the GS and the prices just in case.

A riding bro of mine has a D&D on his very modded-up Ninja 250...and that exhaust sounds great, and much bigger than it really is.  Good product.

To my knowledge they don't make a D&D for the gs 500.  From what I have heard you don't want one anyhow.  They have a very bad reputation for poor build quality and cheap materials.  They are loud though.  So if you want a very loud piece of crap exhasut, buy D&D.

Bob's V&H full system with SS2R can sounded great (a newer system that's a lot freer breathing and doesn't rust when you breathe on it), though I don't think I'd spend the bucks at least to buy it new (he got a deal iirc).

Pablo,

I'm getting my rims powder coated because they used to be white, I sand blasted them then painted them black.  The paint isn't holding up too good.
The quote I got all hovered around $60/rim

DAMN, that Hindle was loud, but I'm glad that KevinC likes it.  It was pretty, but loud.

I don't know if I would recommend them though.  It helps in terms of some power and looks, but when I got the dyno back, they told me it made it worse than if I would have had a stock can on.

I got a jet kit installed - that's where the dyno came from.

So your bike made less than the stock 39-40 HP with a jet kit and Laser exhaust?

It's just a little bit better, at 43.2 (RO) and 48.7 (AG).  I don't know what the difference between the two is though.  Maybe someone else can help me.  I have two sheets from my dyno.
