Title: R6 THROTTLE SLEEVE
Post by: gsf500RR on November 02, 2010, 10:48:27 AM
Appenrtly (but I cannot confirm) you could use the THROTTLE SLEEVE of the R6, wich would be even better than de famous SV 650 (99 to 2002) with a shorter throw.

Can anyone confirm me this??

I think that's what I've heard. If you want to change the throw you can always just cut a piece of a ziptie and glue it on under where the cable goes. You can keep your stock throttle sleeve and shorten it's rotation.

I  have a recent GS500 with 2 cables on the accelerator, would that still work?

And with the R6, does anyone know what year I should get. I've looked on the forum and didn't find one bit of information.

I would think, you would just need to put the same size peice on each side so the cables pulled evenly.

Yeah well it's seems to shaky to hold such responsibilities as the power control, if the thing jam while I'm riding...  :dunno_black:

Finaly after thinking I don't see how it could jam  :cookoo: so I might give a try. Anybody done that already? Maybe I add not one ziptie but a few  :flipoff:

Aiming for something like that: http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/9928/49532364dl8.jpg I know you can buy somethinge like that on ebay but it's quiet expensive for what it is so the ziptie seems cool. The only problem is that I don't think the ziptie will last very long because of the friction  :dunno_black:
