I have a 1997 gs500e that I bought used. It had a dynojet kit in it and whoever put it in really screwed it up. they used jets not even available in the dnyojet kit and over drilled the slides. I bought it because I got i cheap and I knew it needed card work anyway. I had no idea they screwed with the slides. Thought it just needed a rebuild.
I tried to order the original needle jets and the original (unmodified) slides from suzuki parts nation. well they screwed me as they were about to ship an incomplete order to me due to back order without notifying me. They only could get one slide and one needle. doesn't help on a twin carb set up. They were never going to tell me just took my money and was going to ship one set and the other "whenever they came in." I just happened to call to find out where my parts are to discover this.
I have a few calls into salvage yards around me to look for used parts but of course none of them are open on Mondays and who knows what they have on hand anyway.
so does anyone have two unmodified slides and OEM (or equivalent) needle jets they can part with?
I am trying to get this up for my wife. She just got her motorcycle license last week and was hoping she could take advantage of some upcoming good weather before winter hits hard.
