Title: BMW F800R
Post by: Pelikan on November 09, 2010, 07:42:17 PM
Any of you guys familiar with this one?  Apparently BMW is releasing it soon in the US.  Parallel twin 800.  Maybe it'll shape up to be the GS500's big brother?

Dual pipes? I don't see another one but it would be kind of odd for the pipe to be on the left side if it was a single. Either way, it should sound interesting. Throw some Leo's on it.

It's a twin.  There're two pipes that twist around to the bike's right side, go into one, twist to the left, then exit out the pipe.  Seems like it might be worth a test ride...but for those kind of bills I'd just as soon jump on an SV650...unless this thing can slice bread in a whole new way.

It's a BMW, they just had to be different, even if there's no reason for it.

Well, in Aust, $16k to $17k for a new one. New GS's are $7.8k on the road (all govt taxes and fees paid).

2nd hand... yeah well, now you can get 3 GS's for one BMW.

No, but they do have 3 times as many buttons to make you feel good about spending that much money.
