did search alot but couldn't find.
been reading about fuel cutoff switch on gs500 (maybe for older models?). the manual doesnt say anything about turning fuel off. maybe vacuum activated / fuel ? i tried looking for it ,couldn't find.
i do see pri/on/res on the side.
there is one under the fuel tank that can be turned on and off with a screwdriver. It is where the rubber hoses attach to the tank.
You do not have to turn off the fuel UNLESS you're doing work on your bike such as anything that would disconnect a fuel hose.
Yes, old bikes had on, off and reserve. Today's bikes do not work that way. You have ON, Reserve and PRIME. Prime bypasses the vacuum valve stuff and lets fuel flow directly into the carbs. That would be done if you completely ran out of fuel and the carbs were empty, as one example.
So don't worry about turning off the fuel. Just operate as per your owners' manual.
thanks adidasguy
Which way is on under the tank! A pic would be nice LOL. Put Flick back together and can't seem to get it the right way. I know blond moment!
