There were 3 different factory clip-ons. One style for 1989 US bikes. Canadian and European had 2 other styles through 2000. You can check other threads and photos I've posted to see the differences. Very slight difference in height, angle down and angle out for the bars. They all use the same bars and top plate. The clips that hold the bars to the top plate are different. And there is a left and right one. If you buy some, make sure the clips match. There is a left and right bar but the only difference is the location of the hole for the controls and you can drill a hole to make a left bar into a right or vice versa, or buy any bars then drill the holes and make the notches for the mounting screws.
If you know the differences are dead set on 89's, good luck. They were an option for 1989 and not many are available. The others are easy to find because they were sold for so many years and so many countries.(Those do not show in a US parts catalog nor any on-line catalog I've located. They are in a European parts book for 1993 that I was able to find.)

ah I didn't realize that the european/canadian clip ons were different... I will do some research to learn about the differences then. Do you know of any good sources for the european and canadian versions?

I won't have time to get into my parts for a few weeks due to upcoming repair of achilles tendon.
I'll be posting a set in the next day or two so keep an eye out. They're the original '89s (as opposed to the European or Canadian versions that adidasguy mentioned.
