Title: GSXR controls on a GS00?
Post by: ZukiGS500E on January 06, 2011, 05:28:31 PM
Does anyone know how to wire GSXR controls to a GS500? I bought these controls cheap, and the controls on my 92 GS rarely work (horn, starter). I would love help if anyone has ever done this. Thanks

Sit down with a soldering iron and the wiring diagrams for both bikes. Most of the wires between the controls are the same colors, so it's pretty simple.

GS500 controls are pretty cheap. Somehow I ended up with some in my parts box. They can be had for like $10 or so. There is a different right control for the single and double throttle cable models. Left is the same.

Might just be dirty contacts. You can take them apart and clean them.

The wiring connectors are different. You'll need to snip them off your GS controls and solder them on to the GSXR controls. Not too hard if you take your time and look at the wiring
