Title: Bike rentals in Southeast US?
Post by: tmckay on November 05, 2003, 07:59:30 AM
I've got enough miles for a free plane trip.  Next Spring I want to fly to North Carolina/Virigina/West Virgina/Tennessee and go for a ride, anyplace I can find a rental near an airport.  Already prepping the wife for this

My problem is that I am having trouble finding rental places.  I found a place in DC (Harleys but they have Buells  :?, $50-$60 a day, maybe too small) and a place in Atlanta that has BMW850Rs for $135 a day.

I've done 400+ miles in a day on my GS so maybe the Buell wouldn't be bad.

Do any of you know of good rental places with small bore bikes for decent prices in the Southeast?  Maybe I can borrow a bike from Srinath :)

Street Hogs in Virginia Beach - about a 20-30 minute drive from Norfolk Int'l Airport and they have an airport shuttle service. No sport bikes that I'm aware of, but the do have a bunch of Harleys and a few Buells.  If you contact them, talk to Albert and tell him Dan from Octane Magazine sent ya!

Hmmmm,  I like the sound of that

At first I only noticed the Blast available at the DC place, but on second look they've got X1 Lightnings and M2 Cyclones.  Same engine I think, 1200 cc twin with 70+ Hp and a lot of torque.

What do you think, too much of a jump from a GS with no step in between?
