Title: Confused after rejet. Help me reinstall carbs!
Post by: Sheepo5669 on January 22, 2011, 06:29:45 PM
Hey guys. I just rejetted my carbs and cant wait to get em back on but i have 4 questions.
1. There is a hose that comes out of the inside of my left carb and i have no clue where it goes. Its about 1 and a half feet long and i dont believe it was connected before i took everything apart. (i think i remember it dangling unconnected...)
What is it? Where does it go?

2. I will install a K&N lunchbox. There was an air hose connected from the valve cover to the original air box. where does this hose go now that i have no airbox? Do i remove it or just let it dangle?

3. There is a plastic/rubber rotating nipple on the top in between the carbs. I dont remember taking anything off of it but i could have been wrong.
What goes there if anything? Dont tell me its the hose from #1. haha

4. I will have a full yosh pipe and a k&n lunchbox. I used 2 washers per needle. Was this correct? or should i use one per needle?

Thanks again for your help guys.

Btw the rejet was much easier than i expected. I cant freaking wait to get it back together! Thanks Buddha for the jets!

I forgot to say! My tank overflow nipple was with out a hose when i took it all apart. was this carb hose attached to the tank overflow nipple? I think i might have answered one of my questions...

The hose between the carbs is probably the vacuum line to the petcock. And the hose from the valve cover is just a breather hose. So you can run it below the frame but don't detach it- don't want any bugs crawling in there.

Oh ya, make sure the 2 breather hoses from the carbs (2 nipples between them- mirrored opposites) are still there too.

Ok let me get this straight. The hose between the carbs that comes out of the inside of my left carb goes to the petcock? is that the off/on/prime petcock? because that on/off/prime switch has all its hoses accounted for. Or did you mean the petcock on the underside of the tank? (or third nipple)  :)

As for the breather hoses that go on the matching nipples inbetween the carbs, where do the hoses go after they leave the carbs? One hose went to the off/on/prime petcock and the other did not have a hose coming out of it. is that correct?  :dunno_black:

A- A hose came from this to the on/off/prime petcock
B- it appears that nothing was attached to this
c- fuel line to the on/off/prime petcock
D-Dangling hose connected to nothing. (i think it goes on the third nipple on the tank)
e-screw that doesn't appear to belong there. I feel like the lest owner might have messed around with everything.

Also, I used 2 washers per needle for a yoshi pipe and k&n set up. Was that right? or should i have used one per needle?

Thanks for all your help!

Okay, I just used the search function and found that the nipple labeled "B" isnt supposed to have anything attached to it.
Go me.
