Apparently it was Put Together for the awards banquet for the 2010 AFM racing season. From what I can gather, the first half is from a Versus TV promo. Not sure on the second half.
The Narrator is also an actor - John Doman - who played William Rawls on the series The Wire.

What's holding you back, Mary?
Track days can be expensive, or inexpensive depending on how you go about it. If you really want to attend one, it can probably be done for $200 if you really work for it.
yeah, when I'm looking at the prospect of $2000 a day of antibotics for the next week $200 is a LOT right now! I might have to sit in the hospital longer if I can't figure out how to get insurance to pay for it!
Mary
I always hear people saying that everyone should do track days. I'd love to ride around on a track, and even though I'm perfectly fine with paying $3 for a gallon of gas, buying a $100 suit and paying $50 an hour to ride around isn't really for everyone.
exactly, that's what I can't get over: the suit. I want something that'll protect me and not rip in half when I'm flyin' down the straights. Just don't have the "pocket change" for it yet.
$100 suit? Where did you find that at? that's a deal! :o

I don't think everyone should attend track-days... I just think everyone that likes to ride fast, should attend track-days.
FWIW, out here in California you can rent the gear.
You can rent it? How much is it on average?
I have Zero desire to do a Track Day - how come the people who say "do a track day" are people who do Track Days and always want others to come to the track day with them?
However, I wouldn't mind going to a Track Day just to watch - like watching free motorcycle racing.
Michael
I'm gonna go kick an R-1's ass on my GS!!!!
Track days are like good drug habit. :)
RageCage: Sorry, I don't know how much leather rentals are, since I've always owned.. In the Bay Area, call Helimot - he's the local guy for rentals.
Thanks, I've always wanted to do one, but I just can't find the money for leathers.
Keep an eye out... I've seen a lot of used leathers on Craigslist and some of the local riding forums. In the Bay Area, http://www.bayarearidersforum.com is a good bet, as is Santa Clara Cycle (http://www.santaclaracycle.com/) (which buys and sells used gear.) I sometimes see really good deals on new, but discontinued leathers at local shops*, and http://www.motorcyclegear.com/, which sells some used gear.
One other option... If you already own a leather jacket, consider buying a set of decent leather pants with a full length zipper around the waist. Most include both sides of the zipper, and you can have it sewn onto your jacket at a local tailor. 2 piece leathers are acceptable at every trackday I attend (in fact, I race wearing a 2 piece.)
* I'm pretty sure I saw technic 1 piece suits for ~$300 at Road Rider a while ago.
Awesome, thanks for all the information. Now, I just need to figure out my size...
