I have an 04 GS500F, I read that vance and hines no longer makes ignition advancers for the GS. Is their anyone on here that specializes in making Ignition Advancers? If so get ahold of me, Im looking to buy one.
Me too.
I just did the DIY advancer mod from gswiki this Saturday.
20 minutes job.
The bike feels more alive now, much more throttle responsive.
It even wants to wheelie off the traffic light, something it never did.

What year is your GS? What kind of mods do you have on it?
It's my understanding that you can't do the Ignition Advance mod on 04+.
I ran across an article that said that, I was hoping for an advancment in technology since then lol

Basically it seems that ours adjusts automatically, so we already have some benefit over the older ones. But that might not be completely accurate.
Ah, cool. Saves me the time/tinkering/obsession.
Hi all - 1st post!
I was considering modding the ignition advance on my 04 F and came across this...

"The information in the tutorials above were written for the GS500, not the GS500F. The 2004+ GS's have a slightly different ignition timing due to the rotor. According to GStwin member BK, the "do it yourself" option worked fine on his '04 GS500F. He followed the tutorial on his GS500F. It took him about 20 minutes and he and is satisfied with the results of the "DIY" timing advance."
I have searched back thru BK's posts and it seems to have worked just fine for him.
