It's kind of funny how we think of our ages in years....
Say you were born February 1st 1971.... How old are you on February 1st 2011....? 39 or 40 years old?
You wouldn't be 1 year old until Feb 1st 1972...so on Feb 1st 2011 you would be 39 Years old right...?
Now you would have been born 40 years ago that day...but you'd be 39 years old...
Ok so I've been pretty bored today...
I've been that bored...we count our completed years...otherwise you would say "I'm in my 40th year"...
Later.
Or we could really screw things up and have the docs actually count back to date of actual conception. And then measure our age from there. :icon_mrgreen:
What if C A T actually spelled dog?
English is hard enough, let's not really confuse people by changing the entire alphabet shall we? I'm working hard with the kids on proper grammer. LOL
If you could get the kids to learn the difference between quite and quiet...that would be a start.
That would be quite a feat.
Sure, I'll got back to 29 for a little while longer LOL

When that horrid day comes, I intend to turn 40 at least a dozen times...
Korean students in my school calculate their age from 1, at the day of birth, and record it as such on forms and applications. And how our school's student record computer loves that, as it tries to do a check-sum calculation!!!
I'm learning about this in statistics...age isn't "discrete" you're always 19.whatever years old if one were to be technical. Or rather "your age.whatever"
Okay, I'm in my second statistics class and I have no clue what you just said!
Mary
Well all women stop at 29..... then you just say 29 + so many years experience....
So to my original question..... 39 right?
Nope, you'd be 40 today...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
2011-1971=40...you would be starting your 41st year.
Good luck with your math skills...keep tryin' skippy!! :flipoff:
Later.
Is it your B-day?
Mary
Uhmmmm yeah it is my Birthday...
Can't blame me for trying...was trying some "new" math...and you started to agree with me in your first reply....it almost worked.... Heheheheh Just wanted to put the big 4 0 off another year...
Well then...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! for real this time...young fella...party last weekend, or this weekend??
I played this game six months ago...it's my wifeys turn this year...
Apparently I don't think straight after dinner... :dunno_black:
Later.

Happy B-Day!!
Yeah you almost had me going for a minute. I was like...huh...
Cause I was born in August 1980, and turned 10 August 1990, 20 August 2000, and 30 August 2010.
Similar math for me...August 1970...yup...40 until August...
Wifey turns 40 in August...we're the same age for a day...corny, but fun...I like her birthday...hehehe
Later.
June 80 here!

Age is just an arbitrary number.
I stopped counting or celebrating my birthday many Many MANY years ago. Don't even acknowledge it. It's just another day in a man-made calender.
My body man have been on this ball of mud for a certain number of revolutions around the sun, but that's not how old *I* am.
Counting age leads to age-ism.
Michael
I am glad though we don't have to say our age is how old we feel. That would be bad right now!
