Title: My new bike is a Cruiser
Post by: Porkchop on February 02, 2011, 01:04:57 PM
Hey everyone,

The wife always wanted me to have a cruiser so she could be more comfy.  This past Xmas the wife gave me a gift certificate to the local HD dealer.  We went shopping this weekend.  The wife was thinking it was going to be a Harley but this BMW just jumped out at me.  So, meet my new ride.  She is a 2000 BMW R1200C.

Ohhhh you're killing me ... I cant see the pic @ werk, but the r1200 c is my fave cruiser.
Of course I also like the guzzi jackal, but with guzzi you never know when they'd fold shop.
I like the triumph too though.
Cool.

On my buddy's R1200RT, he can time the shift so you don't have to clutch.  I've not tried it on this bike yet.

Nice bike! Also I don't normally use the clutch to shift on the gs after I get going, or any other bike for that matter.

Wow, Porkchop, your bike is so shiny- are you going to want to go riding with us anymore?  (Better get that thing a rabies/tetanus shot before you do).

Oh, and BaltimoreGS, ver4 and I visited Mary during the holiday- I do believe it's HER turn to come up!  Although, Mary, I'll be back down in April- we'll have to do St. Augustine or something.

Considering that you guys are great ride buddies, of course I would still want to ride with ya'll.  The bling was a concern for me but the wife promised she would help keeping her shiny.

I do believe you are correct that it is Mary's turn to come up here.  How about it Mary? You are welcome to stay with us.

You know guys if I can get my health under control. I might just do a road trip up there! Looks like I don't gotta worry bout lodging LOL! I've dreamed of seeing the Smithsonion and the other meuseums up that way! Spring break will be about the only good time due to work and school. Wonder if my sunfire would be able to tow Flick up there so we could all ride!

As far as that lobster place I've never ventured in one. Usually, if it is catered toward the tourons I tend to shy away. I tell you what though you guys come down we have to do Mexican this time. There is this place in Winter Park called "El Potro" magnificent! Cheap too! Oh God no I want a fried Ice Cream.

Yama wouldn't mind seeing you either! I think we should have a GS Bash or something where we can all get together and raise some hell!

Discontinued for a reason.

The reason for discontinuing this model is because of size envy.

Many buyers of cuisers want to ride something bigger.  Good thing that no one on this forum has issues with size. Right?
