i was comparing the 89 frame and the 96 frame i have and i found some differences and was wondering if anyone has ever noticed any or if i should be worried someone has done some modding to the frame.
some of the welds arent complete on the 96 like they are on the 89, also the connection of the tank mount bar to the main frame is bigger on the 96 then the 89.
'89 notice cross bar has triangle supports.......

Your 96 crossbar and subframe mounts look like my 07. I am guessing that Suzuki had issues with the 89 frame and made some changes to make it stronger. But wait for an 89 owner to chime in...
Or find a 90 to compare it to, it might be just from the first year.
My 93 has the brackets around the front crossmemeber, and the heavier construction where the rear subframe is welded to the main frame. I noticed another 89 with a lightweight crossmember up front.
Both frames look stock, to me.
Not sure about the triangles on the main cross frame brace, but my 92 has the bigger style subframe mounts. I believe it also has the gap behind the the seat latch mounts.
Speaking of frame differences, has anybody ever documented (measurements, reference points, etc) where the fairing mount brackets go on the frame? I am working on an E to F conversion and that kind of info would be great to have if available. If not I'll just have to find an F to measure it up.
