I have a 07 gs500f (blue/white) that is about to get a paint job. I bought a new front cowl which I'm going to get paint matched to the tank and also getting the tail paint matched blue. Depending on the cost of getting factory paint it may be cheaper to paint the entire bike. If this comes true :icon_lol: I was thinking of going with the 04' decals/paint scheme.

My question is are the plastics blue or is it just one LARGE decal? (On my 07 all the plastics are blue and decals provide all the color.) Also is there anywhere to get the decals for less than $120?
The fairings from my '04 are black ABS that was painted blue at the time of production. Any other color was provided by the decals and the previous owner's husband dropping it.

Enough paint to do the whole bike can't be more than $50. I just did and SV in stock aqua color ('Napoleon Blue', I believe) and the paint was about $60 for a 3-stage pearl. No gs that I know of has a 3-stage, that blue may have a little pearl in it though.
i think suzukis blue is actually candy not pearl
There are different blues. I checked the colors on colorrite.com one day and found that my 2009 blue is not the same as the blue on toogoofy's.
Don't assume anything about the color. Check the make model and year for the correct color unless you're going to repaint everything.

That is quite possible, I didn't think of candy. I have actually never sprayed a candy, so I know little about it. It still shouldn't be expensive.
On Color rite's website Flick's color was a two stage and for the rattle can it was $40 WTF and $60 for a 12oz can which is why I haven't convinced myself to do Flick yet!

Suzi's blue is Pearl Vigor Blue - a single spray (not counting primer and optional clear coat on the top) Not a candy color but looks pretty much like a candy color.
I remember looking up Flick's blue one day and it was a 2 stage blue: under coat and then a blue coat. Yes i Candy Grand Blue
If you're doing everything, I suggest using the 2009 blue to save money. It looks pretty close to the same thing.
Suzki paint codes......

Every indivdual colour has a 3 figure code, but factory combinations of 2,3,4 and 5 colours are also given a 3 figure code. You need to break the combination code down to give individual codes.
In the case of the GSF there were 2 blue/white combinations. Code CWH, which is comprised of YKY pearl vigour blue and YBD pearl splash white. And there was also a HU9 made up of YC2 Candy grand blue and OJW still pearl white............Not sure if this was offered in all markets though.
I personally like the '04 blue over the '09 myself :thumb: not quite as dark. Girls notice those things LOL!

I'll let you know what I think when I see Flick in July!
Whoa? Wait? What? I about forgot your coming down in this area LOL. I was like am I making dates and forgetting about them again (you know most guys use roofies to get that affect LOL) Or is Flick making play dates and not telling me again LOL!

Remember? Free hotel. Free admission to theme parks and priority rides where I always go to the front of the line (I'll bring my left leg gimpy boot and use the "handicapped" excuse!
Oh, then there was the trip to the adidas store.
Flink - well, Flick wants to check out the feel of a guy's butt. Then Flick can decide if he's bi or goes one way or the other :icon_lol:
Sorry but Flick is a one woman man.Was at the dealer today and actually found out Flick's only other owner was a woman too. Tickets to the major theme parks Universal and Disney shouldn't be a problem either. I live across the street from an Adidas outlet!

I have an 09 F and its actually in being painted as we speak. I'm still not sure if Im going to put any decals back on it (im not a decal kind of guy)...I may just leave the 'S' on the tank. Anyway, I did pick up these just in case I change my mind. Got them on ebay for a dollar each :) They are actually great quality (I bought 4 and put one on my tool box just to see, they are pretty nice)
Not sure if thats what you were asking but thought I'd throw it up anyway.
They are 9" x 1.75" (I put my key there to give you a frame of size reference as well)

Yeah i've seen those on ebay too. What I haven't found at a reasonable price is the striping decals above the Suzuki logo. I've seen them on OEM lists but they were like $150. If I can skip outta work a little bit early this week I'm gonna head to the paint shop. It's ashame the bike is in pieces right now cuz its about 75 here today.
