Title: WTT Headlights
Post by: k.rollin on February 17, 2011, 02:28:50 AM
Hey folks,

I've decided to go with a different look for my bike, and would like to swap headlights and mounting brackets. I have a modified GS500F headlight and side mount brackets on my bike currently (pic for reference), and am looking for the headlight and brackets from a GS500E. If you're interested, post up, or shoot me a PM.

I have the same deal. I have a 2002 GS500, and the previous owner put the fairings and lights from a 2004. I would like to trade for the headlight assembly and front turn signals, and mounts etc, to make my bike back to a naked bike. PM me for more info

How did you hide the wires so well behind the headlight? Do they fit in the headlight case, like the E?

The stock wiring to the headlight/marker lamp isn't excessively long, so it all just fits nice and clean. I really didn't do anything to try and conceal it. Now that I've added a headlight modulator though, I've got to get creative with zip-ties and tape to hide the wiring better.

Anyone in this thread still up for the trade? I'll gladly trade the stock naked headlight and mounting brackets for the F model. Hell, I'll even pay for all the shipping.

Absolutely.

how about a review of which one you personally think throws more light ? i'm thinking about putting a big nasty GS light on my drz if/when i break the stocker. the gs really has a great blow torche of a light on it.

:)

also, is one of your carbs hella lean or - ? (see the pipes)

Sorry for the thread jack but... How do you like the DRZ? Do you have the e version or a road worthy version. I would trade my gf for the dual sport. One day.  :D

I reckon the carbs are fine; I haven't noticed any performance issues that would make me think otherwise. I'll let you know which one I think has a better pattern.

I have an F, looking to go naked. Anyone wanna trade? Fairings have some damage, as do mirrors. Light is A-OK though.
