Ehh jack some people have no choice BUT to ride a trike. im losing feeling in pretty much both legs, so if i ever get back into riding. ill have to consider one of two things, either 1 get braces for legs, or 2, build a trike of some sort

I agree yami, trikes and/or sidecars are for serious handicaps and I just don't agree with the many folks around here that are getting trikes so they won't have to give up their big heavy showboat bikes as they get older. Old age alone isn't a good excuse and I would really miss leaning into the corners on 2 wheels if I had to give it up. Average age of those return bikers in the vid is 81 it said and that's only a couple years away for me.
I was parked in a handicap place last summer and came out of the coffee shop to see a middle age guy standing there and loudly ranting about the motorcycle in the handicap spot. After seeing me walking to the bike and climbing on he turned the other way and shut up. Mary won't have that problem 50 years from now when she matures a bit. :icon_lol: People just don't realize it takes no more strength or energy to ride a small bike than it does to drive a car.

Ditto on the "no choice".... guy I ride with highsided on his first time out as ride leader. Spleen almost broke loose. Doc said something like, "if you're spleen had come loose you would have bled to death quick. It will heal now BUT if something happens again the scar tissue won't hold and it'll break loose and you'll be dead in three minutes." He now rides a trike - VW engine powered trike.

I'm pretty sure my docs aren't happy these days riding. My cardiologist was harping on me about it this week but I think my primary is the only one that gets it. I think that's because she rides with her husband all of the time and was just asking me about the MSF. I don't have a whole lot of pleasurable things left in life biking really is about it. When people question me about it I reply I'd rather go to heaven sliding into home plate with a bruised and battered body than to sit on the couch doing my shoulda coulda wouldas. I've come closer to death than people twice my age I don't take any day for granted. If I can swing a leg over Flick that morning then I'm riding. It really is the only thing that brings me peace. My Dr today told me I need to find more things to relax but between work and school I just don't have the time. I seem to only take the time when my body forces me too.

aye mary slide into grave dirty dusty and disheveled saying " damn what a ride" ( gonna have that on my tombstone
