If you click on the "SEARCH" option of the forum navigation bar and type "exhaust" you will find (literally) 200 pages of exhaust questions and answers. Any question about exhausts can be answered there.

A better question is what kind of oil you should be using. Have you ever considered the differences between regular and synthetic oil? Fascinating.

Oh, you suck, XealotX.

What we need is a good old fashion debate on the various brands of blinker fluid.

Regular blinker fluid for me. I'm too cheap to buy synthetic. Besides, the lamp usually fails before the fluid does.

My GS came with a V&H on it. I absolutely hated it.... until I bought an even louder bike. Now the V&H doesn't seem bad at all. So to answer your question, install the V&H, and buy a second bike to make your GS not sound as bad.

Really though, I love stock exhausts. I really like bikes that are quiet. I have a much easier time enjoying a bike when I can really get on the gas and not have the bike screaming under me. I understand the appeal of the noise, but any time I'm around people or traffic I find myself trying to keep the rpms as low as possible so I'm not irritating everyone around me, and so they don't think I'm a goon that's trying to race everyone around me. No need to attract all the attention.

Do you have the jets and air filter to go with it? It's an afternoon project, toss it on and see how you feel about it. If I had the stock exhaust I'd definitely stick it on mine, but I'm not gonna go searching for one just to replace what I've got.

If it fails to meet state noise requirements it's illegal. With that said, it's doubtful you'll run into problems with the police. IMO though, after-market exhausts aren't really worth the hassle unless you're racing. I'd suggest you sell it to someone who does (not me. I have a Yosh system.)
