Title: Anyone done a GSXR FE swap and kept original speedo?
Post by: pave_spectre on February 19, 2011, 04:35:16 AM
Looking into doing a gsxr front end swap, but would prefer to be able to keep the stock gauges, rather than fork out big dollars for a decent looking set of aftermarket gauges.

Anyone know if there is a mechanical speedo drive that will fit the gsxr axle?

Or possibly converting the speedo to an electronic drive rather than mechanical?

88-94 gsxr 750/1100(the 1100 might go to 97) front ends have a mech. speedo
95-up gsxr have elec speedo's
and the older gsxr inst cluster is much more better(looking) than a gs cluster

Should have said the FE I have access to is an 04-05, so would either need some way of fitting a mech drive to it, or converting current gauge face to an electronic drive.
