Title: Parts needed: rear sprocket, 17 tooth front sprocket, speedo cable
Post by: sveach on February 20, 2011, 01:59:49 PM
I put my new swingarm today (partly thanks to adidasguy!!) and discovered that my rear sprocket is bent. I need a couple parts:

rear sprocket, 39 tooth

The 5 bolts and nuts that bolt the sprocket onto the wheel. (parts 18 and 19 on this schematic)

Buying those from bikebandit is $20 for 5 of each. Hoping someone has these just laying around...

Still looking for a 17 tooth front sprocket, but I will probably have to buy that off ebay/online store somewhere.

My speedo cable snapped early this week - so I need a new one. Anyone have this laying around? I can pick one up off ebay for $20 but would prefer the money go to someone here.

My chain snapped last year and it sheared through the 5 bolts that are holding on the sprocket, so I'm going to have all kinds of fun getting those off. They're mangled horribly. I'll probably have to use a cutoff disk on a dremel to cut through them...

I too would like to change the front sprocket to a 17 tooth. Can anyone direct me to the best place to buy one? Does anyone know of a supplier in Melbourne, Australia or is it better to buy online? :dunno_black:

I've got a couple dozen of those bolts, too. I'll check tonight on the rear sprocket. I have one, but might want to keep it with the factory chain and front sprocket as they came from a bike breaker and had only 240 miles on them - so like new. To my surprise, they were in a box-o-bolts I bought for $20! Even had side & center stands plus tons of other stuff. 30 pounds in all I think. I'll see if I have other sprockets. Might have the speedo cable. I know there's a tangle of cables.

Come to think of it, I do have other sprockets. I forgot about the ones on the extra wheels. Might have some on the cush drive if you want that, too.
