Title: Bike Rental in the Bay Area
Post by: PaviSays on February 24, 2011, 01:43:16 AM
Hey guys!  I know I haven't been on in a while, and not having my bike is driving me nuts.  I'm from Pittsburgh, PA, but at the moment, I'm studying at UC Berkeley out in California.  Spring break is coming up in about a month or so, and I've been dying to ride.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous all of the time, and walking past roughly 30 motorcycles every day on my way to class has taken it's toll.  I don't have the money to buy a bike out here, and it doesn't seem practical to have mine shipped out.  And the GS really doesn't appeal to me as a cross-country tourer, but I definitely want to find some way to ride over break, if only for a few days.  I have been checking out a few places in San Francisco to rent, and Dubbelju looked promising with a sv650.  The rent is $260 + helmet costs, and that seemed kind of steep.

But I guess the bottom line is: Any recommendations on where to rent in the Bay Area?

Thanks!
Pavi

Have you checked on BayAreaRidersForum?  Search first for "Bike Rental", and if nothing comes up, then ask.

I'd say the cheapest thing to do is have your GS shipped to you and get the seat reupholstered with memory foam like I did.  Then you can ride all day without numbutt!
