Title: Oh what a wonderful day!
Post by: Toogoofy317 on February 24, 2011, 09:54:43 PM
Can any thing go right?!?!? Sooo, today me and a couple of buddies decide to go out to Cocoa Beach and catch the last Space Shuttle launch. I'm not really sure how on Earth the one person who didn't have a GPS ended up leading the group but of course he made a wrong turn. I made the executive dicision to do our turn around at a gas station so that we could regroup. We travel a few miles no gas stations. So, I see a home made honey place that has parking etc and we pull in to regroup. One of the guys with us took his car so we could put a cooler in there etc. So, I got some cold water and a piece of bread and brainiac wasn't thinking and locked his keys in the trunk. Well, AAA shouldn't take long right? Everytime we called to check on them they would say they were less than 10 minutes away which turned into two hours and it took the guy 45 seconds to break into the 2009 corolla. At this point we have 20 minutes till launch and it is 12 miles away. I wanted to just find a good place to eat and then after that go catch a movie I even offered my free movie tickets. But, I was out voted so just as we get to the cape the shuttle goes off. No place to park quickly to get the camcorder going so we just watched it.

The guys figured that we could then get something to eat go check out the beach for a few minutes and that would be enough to miss the mass exodus. They wanted to go to Red Lobster I was like really we are at a beach and you want to go to Red Lobster?Isn't that sacralige? Since my sense of taste is all out of whack I managed to convince them to go somewhere cheaper. We ended up at Steak and Shake. Not too bad on the burger. Then we hang out at Jetty Point for a bit but the sea breeze was a little much for me so we decided to call it a night at 7:00 the ride was only suppoded to be an hour but I didn't get home until 11:00. I'm still miffed that we had to pay $6 in tolls on a road where the avg speed was 12 mph.

So that was my fun day!

Come hang out up here for a week and see just how wonderful it is to be able to ride all year round...cold my a$$...-30C (-22F) here and she's complaining about the cold...bleh...

You suck!!   :flipoff:  ;)

But I guess it is the price you have to pay for the job I do...maybe next winter I will take a week, fly down there and rent a bike for the week...hmmm... :thumb:

Later.

That is why sometimes it is just better to do stuff like that on your own and then catch up with mates after. I hate getting frigged around like that. My motorcycle rides are usually "me time" anyways.

That's awesome that you can even get to see a shuttle go off. I get excited when I get to see a building imploded, but that's about as much as I get up here.
