i'm toying with the idea of buying a gs500f and selling the fairings/headlights/mirrors etc to go naked. what do you think i could get for all of the 'F' parts?
$12, shipped. There is tons of people that have them and want to sell them. If you must sell (as opposed to sit on it till it becomes a collectors item) the price set by the market IMHO is pretty dismal. Much like the houses in the desert next to a power transmission tower 300 miles from nowhere in California.
Cool.

good to know sr..buddah! pipe dreams.. ya know
There is no such thing as "price" if you ask me. Price for these things are to be accompanied by a time frame.
The way I'd ask is I'd like to sell this thing in the first week of April and I'd like to be done with selling it in a week. What should I price it @.
Houses, cars, most used things are the same way. I have a mountain of katana shocks, I want em gone in 2 days. Guess what, I'd prolly ahve to pay someone to show up with a dump truck and haul it away. If I can sit on it for a year or 2 and sell and ship em etc, I'd get near about 40 bones a pop for em.

I assume that's just a hypothetical example, but I'll ask anyway; really? ;)
When I'm wondering what something like that is worth I usually have the most luck typing it into ebay, then hitting "completed listings" to show me how much the previous auctions ended for.

Why not just buy a naked GS?
Guess he's in the USA and wants to buy a New bike - no New nakeds stateside. Only we are privileged enough to have naked GS500s. :woohoo:
Michael
naked gs's are hard to come by around here.

Suzuki felt sorry for sir michael, since all he has for his fetishes are kangaroos, so they gave him the naked stuff

well frank look at it this way. say you get an f but you like naked bikes. but a gs is only thing you want. you can convert to teh e look. or say for example you have an e, but like faired. youd be the ideal market for those that prefer naked
IDK, the last time I sat on an F Model GS in a showroom I remember thinking to myself, "damn, these fairings are huge! hey, great place to install cupholders!!" :icon_lol:

I've toyed with the idea of mounting a cellphone holder there so I can see my GPS. :thumb:
i had a second hand set, before i sold my 4th gs, i mounted a car stereo in it. sideways. gps/cel holder was on bars. police siren controller was opposite stereo, the slim pa speaker was in front below oil cooler, where it would normally go, but since it was a 97 no oil cooler. not much clearance. but price was right
