Title: Windshield Fitting
Post by: The ol_kid on March 03, 2011, 07:55:07 PM
Hey team, Just looking to do a bit of light touring this year and considering putting an aftermarket windshield on my GS 500. There's the tinted F-18 one that looks pretty darn good but its only listed to function on the 89-02' model. So my main question is, has anyone fabricated any fittings or made this windshield or one similar to it fit their GS?

Thanks, The ol'Kid

Are you on a naked GS?  In the USA, '02 was the last year the naked GS was available, '04-up has fairings.  If you are outside the US and have an '03 up model it should fit.

Pretty much any windshield made for a bike with a round headlight and normal handlebars is universal and will fit any bike.

It's a naked 04 in Nova Scotia so the 89-02 NC shields will fit.

Great then, thanks for the tips guys. I was just wondering because I want a little protection but not so much as to look like a fool pulling into the pumps with a windshield I need to squidgy down after a ride.

I'm in Ontario with a naked '08 and was wondering about this as well.

I appreciate the info I'm going to go pick one out.
