Title: Hi from Acadiana
Post by: alyoopz on March 07, 2011, 07:37:59 PM
Hi Everyone,

Just got on this forum a little while ago and it looks pretty good so far.  I have my XS650 down for a while (street tracker project) and just couldn't pass up a new GS500F for 82 bucks a month.  Sweet bike so far and I haven't even hit 100 miles yet.  I used to make a living twisting wrenches on Suzis and I am factory trained.  Of course, that was about 30 years ago  :  )  But, I haven't forgotton everything!  Just found out about the sidestand interlock this morning, though.  Ha!  I think my old valve adjuster may still work, not sure, we'll see.  I'm supposing that the GS500 engine is an update of the prior GS450, but straighten me out on that, if need be.  I used to do some speed work on the 1100s and probably will tinker with this one a bit.

It's good to be here!
Al

Factory trained Suzuki tech? Cool man. Welcome aboard.

There have been some updates to the motor since it's 450 days, but not too many. Speed work on the 1100's.......racing or for fun? Either way, post plenty of pics!
