Title: Greetings from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Post by: tucsondog on March 15, 2011, 11:46:50 PM
Hello everyone. After completing my safety course and passing the licencing exams, I purchased my first bike (2005 GS500F, Red/black) back in November 2010. I spent several months researching, comparing, even interviewing friends/family/coworkers abut the best starter bike, and everyone said the GS500. I hope to become an active member of the GStwin Forums for many years to come and look forward to meeting new people who also love the GS500. (Perhaps even a group ride or two this summer?!)
:)

Welcome to the group Mike...this is a pretty awesome forum that I have been a part of for the past year...there are some really knowlegeable people in here that have lots of experience with our bike...

As for group rides, there aren't alot of Albertans in here...a few to be sure, but not a lot.  And we are spread all over the place...I'm in Sylvan, SAFE-T is in Edmonton, someone just joined us from down in the Lethbridge area, but you get the idea...I would suggest the other site I am also part of www.albertamoto.com for the local group rides and another bunch of like minded guys...we have a mix of cruiser, sport and adventure owners...but this site has more traffic, so the conversations move along better...

Later.

Welcome Mike from Medicine Hat. I have been on here since last summer. I'm retired and just started riding when I turned 65. I don't have a lot to offer the forum but have received help when I post question and have learned a lot just reading posts. Great site.
As for "madjack", I spent a bit of time trying to figure your location from your posts. Didn't want to ask, kind of a challenge. Early on I thought Red Deer then pretty well settled on Fort McMurray until you posted video a couple of weeks ago, caught on then.

I forgot I posted that on here...I think Mary was whining about it going below 50F...so I showed my commute to work...I was really just playing with my camera I got for xmas, but haven't had a good excuse to use it...

I just went and bought a new rear tire for my GS...will be installed tomorrow...hopefully it is as nice as it is supposed to be next week, should see lots of melting...then maybe the ice will clear from my neighbourhood... :thumb:

I'm itchin' to get a ride in...

Later.
