Title: Saddle bag recommendations
Post by: epoxy.guy on March 16, 2011, 01:22:28 PM
I use a tank bag when commuting to work, and a tail bag for overnight trips (http://www.tobefast.com/rapid-transit-recon-23-tailbag-pr-10001365-f-64118.html)

Does anyone use saddle bags for longer trips?  I'm considering the picking up the Rapid Transit (either 45 or 77).

I would perfer going hard top but the price is higher so the soft bags are more within my budget.

Recommendations, suggestions, photos if you use one would be nice.

We just covered this topic a few days ago actually: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=55336.0

The ones you linked to are pretty small, make sure they are big enough for you. The 77's have almost twice the capacity of the 45's.

I just got the Onyx bags, they are expandable. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/luggage/saddlebags_/first_gear/nylon_expandable_motorcycle_saddlebags.html

Just see http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=55395.0 for images...

i use kappa saddle bags for touring--very good quality, rain covers etc

see here for details:
http://www.kappamoto.com/catalogo-online/eng/gruppo/*Borse+soffici+moto*/sottogruppo/*Saddle+bags*/serie/*TK714+-+SADDLE+BAGS*/

One only thing: before you get smthing, be sure it suits your bike, cause before i took mine, i had tried some panniers bulkier(cameron adelaide---more liters...)  than these i have now and just went to kappa.

i like the panniers you are interested in...
