so when my bike got knocked over my throttle grip tore and i noticed that there was a white plastic piece underneath it. the end of this plastic piece actually cracked a little. i'm guessing that this is the actual throttle? i was wondering if i had to replace this part, or would it be included when i bought new grips?

p.s. i hear that the progrips 724 is nice, any comments on these or other grips?
The throttle is the white tube you see under the right grip. No, it is not included with new grips. How badly is it cracked?
I think the 724's are the ones I had. If so, I like them a lot.
It is included if you buy a grip that includes it. :?
If you buy grips for a GS500, Kat 600 (recommended for cushier feel), or the like, it will have the throttle tube. The aftermarket grips I've seen don't include the throttle tube. I don't know about other makes. If possible look at the grip before purchasing. I made that mistake myself. The aftermarket grips can be put on an existing tube, but the tube has to have a tab cut off for it to fit correctly.
Oh and while you are learning from my mistakes a GSXR 600 grip will fit, but is a little longer so you have to move the grips in 3/8" or have them hang off the end.

Trim the grip ends and install bar ends or bar end mirrors. Looks much better IMHO.
