Hey Everyone!
Fellow GS owner here. I had a question in regards to an Upper Fairing Stay.
I got into an accident a little over a year ago (thank goodness no one was hurt) in which i collided with another rider in front of me after failing to brake on time for a turn. My bike is generally okay but the problem is the fairing is bent out of shape (the handlebars aren't aligned anymore, they tilt sharply to the left when the wheel is straight).
My friend (who's very knowledgeable with bikes) suggested that i would need to get a replacement fairing stay.
Question is: will a 2005 GS500F upper fairing stay fit in a 2004 GS500F? I'm pretty sure they will but I wanted to be certain before I purchased it.
If anyone has any idea, I'd appreciate the help. Also, if anyone has one for sale, that'd be great too!
Thank you so much for any and all input!
Far as I am aware, fairings are the same from 2004 to present (except for color). You can always verify parts by looking at a parts list available on a variety of sites. Part number differences can just be the color (like wheels - different part number based on color but axles, bearings, etc. are the same so wheels are interchangeable)
There are fairings for sale in the for sale section.
Check the fork alignment - that can cause handlebars to be crooked.
adidasguy thank you for your reply.
I was actually talking about the fairing stay
specifically this one:

Again thank you so much for any help. Much appreciated. :thumb:
That's what I meant. The whole fairing and mountings are the same.

If this is your problem, either:
1. The forks are twisted in the triples.
2. The fork(s) is/are bent.
If 1., loosen the two top clamps, wriggle the bars and bounce on the front suspension, check it all lines up again, re-tighten clamps. :thumb:
If 2., buy new fork leg(s).
Once you've fixed the above, if the fairing is still off centre you might need a new bracket, but I'd have a go at bashing the old one straight first. Its not made of unobtanium!

ah i see sorry for misunderstanding. I'm hoping that it'll help solve this problem. I think pictures work best so I'll probably end up posting pictures of the damage to see whether this is the right solution.

What do you mean by "triples?"
Also, I've been looking on bikebandit.com for the oem part but I don't see an actual "fork" part. Would it be under a different name?
And I see some parts being for the "GS500FK4". What differentiates the K4 from just the standard F?
Sorry, so many questions but I'm not very well versed with rides in general so I'd rather get information from the community that knows.
K4 = 2004
K5 = 2005
K6 = 2006
etc.
