For sale is a complete bolt on brake upgrade for the GS500E.
Kit includes:
1. Damaged master cylinder, good lever. Cylinder is functional, but cover is ground down from a recent lowside.
2. Galfer Stainless Steel brake line ($70, new)
3. SV650 Right Side Brake Calliper ($30, ebay) rebuilt last year, fresh OEM seals pistons ($30 + labor)
4. EBC Extreme Pro racing pads*, 50% life left ($85 new)
5. Fresh Amsoil high temp brake fluid
System is a huge improvement over the stock parts on the GS500, providing excellent power, feel, and modulation. This is a great upgrade for older GS500s, especially if you haven't flushed your brake fluid recently and are running your old rubber lines.
Everything is bolt on for the GS500, with no special hardware needed. SV Caliper is nearly identical to the calliper installed on 97 and newer GS500s. Please see my review of the EBC Extreme Pro pads in the racers corner. Although these pads are excellent for racers, they are entirely suitable for street use, with excellent longevity, gentle wear on the rotors, and great performance, cold or hot.
Master cylinder has minor damage from a lowside late last year. You can either bolt everything to your existing master cylinder, or you can use mine and simply replace the cover. I'm including it just so we don't have to deal with a mess of brake fluids.
