Title: need help!!! oil is leaking out from the engine
Post by: gs5002k5 on April 18, 2011, 05:40:10 PM
I have a few problems and would love to get some info. I'm really new to carb motor.
Here are my problems:
it's currently running on one cylinder when it start. Both have great compression. Did the spark plug test and saw the ark. I don't know what's the problem is.
Another problem is that when the engine run for over a minute, oil start leaking from the top of the engine.

(http://i55.tinypic.com/14d3d52.jpg) oil shoot out from there.

I'm really confused and about to give up and take it to a shop.

it's a 2005 gs500f.

any info would be appreciated. thanks

Are you positive it's oil? That breather tube is for steam and pressure to get out of the engine.

As far as running on one cylinder, that's probably the carbs needing cleaned.

There should be a hose from that fitting going to the airbox, so oily residue gets burnt in the engine. You should get a small mist of oil out there, max. If a significant amount you have bad/broken rings causing excessive blow-by.
