Title: 97 engine and frame for sale
Post by: jp on April 23, 2011, 05:37:19 PM
I'm going to sell the engine, frame, wheels and whatever else you see in the pictures as one item. I've pulled off all the parts I'm going to. The engine has 42,000 miles on it. The frame has an Ohio salvage title, which I will get notorized. The tires were put on last year. Both Avon Roadriders, front has 8200 miles, rear has 4800. This is my second pair of Roadriders, the first set went 26,000 front, 15,000 rear. The forks have Progressive springs, the rear shock is off a Katana 600. The rear brakes are all there.

$300 to pick up in zip code 44092. If someone needs an engine, this could be a way to get one cheap. I paid $400 for the engine when it had 12,000 miles on it.

I will drive up to 8 hours to deliver this or meet someone halfway for $0.50 per mile plus tolls one way from my house, as calculated by Microsoft Streets & Trips program.

This shows where the bracket for the grab handle broke from the vibration of having a luggage rack with a Givi topcase mounted.

I have the piece that broke off, along with a piece I cut to fit so it could be welded back together. I found a Ventura Bikepack system on ebay before I found a welder so I didn't bother fixing it. I rode 2 years without that piece of frame with no problems, since that section of subframe is only to support the seat.
