Title: Exhaust options?
Post by: gitarooman83 on April 24, 2011, 06:26:59 AM
I've seen quite a few other posts on here regarding exhaust but I just wanted to ask a couple questions.

I have an 09 gs500f.  Will full exhaust from < 2004 fit on my bike? If so, it opens up the vance and hines exhaust option. Also, would a slip on for a 2003 or earlier model fit without a lot of hassle?

The GS uses the same exhaust system on all models.  If you can find a decent one, the old Yoshimura full exhaust made the most power but it is annoying when it comes time for an oil filter change.

I really like the sound of my Jardine full system.  No complaints and easy install.  Five bolts.

+1 for the jardine, no complaints here, totally thunderous, much lighter too, feels like a solid 15+ lbs lighter never weighed it though

As far as i know later models poss 02 onwards have a slightly larger diameter pipe, not a problem if you change whole system but a slip on from an earlier model might be too small.Read this on here so a search would prob` clarify.
