When I bought my bike in Sept, the left bar end weight was falling off, so I just removed both of them. I haven't noticed a different in ride quality. What are they for?
They reduce the engine vibes felt through the handlebars. You don't need to have them, but if your hands start getting numb, you might want them.
thanks. i will probably notice on longer trips, but so far i've put in maybe 50 miles at a time and haven't noticed...
anyone got any for sale since mine are 50% jacked?
Whats wrong with yours? You can probably fix it. Usually just needs new end-nuts and maybe a bushing.
Not only do they help with the vibes they plug up those ugly holes as well. I wouldn't want to drop my bike with my hand under the bar with no bar end.
I've got after market ones to make they cost <$10.

No kidding. Some kind of bar end ball is mandatory in my race club. Don't even get me started on slash cut pegs (illegal, as per our rules.)

one has a squished/old bushing. where can i find new stock bar ends, or a new bushing?
Yea I removed mine and put in bar end mirrors that are significantly lighter and havent notice any kind of vibration that wasnt there before, maybe they still do they job.
i WANT the stock/OEM bar ends on there. i took em off and the vibration is annoying me. can someone point me to where i can get some new ones or replace the old bushing?
Well, the dealership is pretty obvious. I got aftermarket ones and are much better than OEM to me! Those any local shop would have. I gave mine away. Post in the for sale or trade area!

I use some aftermarket ones, they are a fraction of the weight, and I really didn't feel any diference at all.
Plus, they are much thinner, it makes lane splitting just a little bit easier.
i bought the bike without em and still ride without them. no noticeable vibration in the bars for me

It doesn't hurt THAT bad... Until you mess up your bars to the point that you cant put bar ends on :(
