Title: Aftermarket full fairing kit
Post by: parker on April 26, 2011, 03:41:21 AM
Seeing how the GS500F seems to be pretty popular now (well a lot more in Australia I find), does anyone/company sell a full after market fairing kit? I wanted to keep my stock fairing in the garage until I sell it but have after market ones on just in case.something goes wrong and if I drop it or something.

Buy second hand fairings and put them on. Cheaper.

I was thinking that, but I couldn't find like full sets aside from one on Ebay which was $1200 and repaired ones.

Thought they might of been like plain white ones, or something which were <$1000

Why not just take em off and ride her naked? Twins love being naked  ;)

I tried that but I like the fairings in the rain as my legs don't seem to get as wet; plus I have enough trouble with the wind as it is lol.

So you want an alternative aftermarket fairing for a bike that came with a factory fitted fairing as standard??........Good luck in your search  :thumb:

Yeah just one that I can keep on the bike till it comes time to sell her.
I just wanted an aftermarket one that I could mess around with eg. paint and what not.

Airtech makes a fairing kit for the GS500 E. My bet is that it would fit the F without too much hassle.

Check the for sale section. A full fairing was for sale there for about $220.
You can buy the R&G frame sliders someone is selling and put those on with your original fairing. I put those on mine and it protects it in case the bike falls over.
Not sure what you're worried about. Fairings can be replaced if you happen to damage it. Otherwise, put it back on and drive carefully. If there is damage, fix it. Not that expensive. If you don't damage it, you saved yourself a lot of work and unnecessary expense.

I'm actually selling my front fairings in the for sale section. All from a GS500F, good condition for pretty fair prices. I sold the front but both of the side fairings are up for grabs and you could get the front relatively cheap (70~100) from ebay.
