Congradulations!
Thanks for all the great messages and my wife thanks you as well. I love coming to this board because it is one big family around here. The world already feels different. She is in the very early stage and we will know more tomorrow as far as due dates, etc. when she visits the obgyn. I am trying to keep her as calm as possible. We can't believe how fast it happened. We just really started trying a little over a month and a half ago. I will keep all of you posted. Take care. :)
Can you just hear the pitter patter of little fetts everywhere?
WAHOOOOO!
Great News!
Yipppeeeee!

And you thought that was fast. A friend of mine is pregnent from her first night. She married as a virgin and got pregnent somewhere on the first few days after getting married. Needless to say she is "Bummed" now. Oh well 9 months and then she can continue what she was hoping to be a good break between children.
I was telling her to get on the pill if she wanted to wait a while, but being a goodie goodie girl she didnt seem to think that it could happen that fast. Ofcourse both parents are estatic since they are going to be grand parents soon.
Yea....Way to go... The GS can be used to keep him/her in line... Like if they do well in school, do chores etc reward... riding the bike. If they do bad... punishment... say cleaning+waxing it. How's that.
Cool.
Srinath.
congrats. just wait till he/she is old enough to empty out all your socket sets and go after the gs with them and a pair of needle nose pliers... :)

The ultrasound was amazing and we have a video of it that we have watched a dozen times. Everyone have a good spring and safe riding to all. This board and everyone on it is great!

Excellent news!!!
So howd you score on the kinky test?
Good Job, jangofett!!

Congrats! Those ultrasounds are so cool... it's like watching TV (except the audience is more excited).
Now is a good time to test every surface in your home for lead, and then take care of any refinishing work: you won't be able to make any dust come summer. The real kidproofing can come later, when he's able to move around.
Try and get organized: get a system to take care of bills and chores. You're likely to forget little things like paying the mortgage once you get busy, unless you have a system that makes sure they get done.
I do need to start kid-proofing the house. How does one test for lead in the house? We live in an older home and I suspect that some of the finishes might contain lead. Thanks for all the nice words everyone! :)
there are specialists that test for lead...look in the yellow pages for home inspectors...
no need to babyproof yet. Baby will be a lump for a long time (a beautiful, giggling makes-you-want-to-cry-from-happiness lump). As baby gets older and starts to crawl and walk you'll know immediately what is in the danger zone. babies are all different. Mine has one drawer in the kitchen that's his favorite-its the only one he likes to open and close so we put rubber tupperware in there and havent had to worry about anything else.
Boys are great. Just wait till you get home from work and he comes running out yelling "daddy, daddy" with a big grin on his face. Happens much earlier than I expected and brought me to my knees crying happy tears. Mine's 19 months now.
You're going to be SO FRIGGIN TIRED but so ecstatic at the same time. It's magical. Congratulations.
Boys are harder to keep in line mostly I am told, however my reward system works better on boys... my 13 month old gets bike time and he loves it. Also when he'd out near the garage when I am fiddling with something... my wife gives him a stubby wrench as a toy... and yesterday he put his hand in a bucket of gas. I guess next year I'll have to get him a YSR50.
Cool.
Srinath.
All I can say is my three year old shares the same enthusiasm about bikes as I do. Whenever I start up the GS he gets really excited and starts jumping around. Which is exactly what I want to do most of the time.
hope your little one feels the same way.

You can also get little "tester pens" at the hardware store. They look like cigarettes. You squeeze them, then rub the tip on a paint chip, and if the paint chip has lead, it will turn red. They are supposedly inaccurate, but I got some nice red smears on paint that was later professionally tested to have lead, so they're a good place to start.
The problem is that your son's blood will be tested for lead at several points, and if the reading is a bit high, then the state requires that you have your house professionally tested, then correct any problems. But with your son in the house, you can't make any lead dust, which means either send the kid to grandma's for a week while the work is done. Our boy liked to teethe on a low windowsill that had lead paint under the newer paint, and had high lead levels for a while. We pretty much had to wet the floor and walls (to minimize dust) then rip out the old window mouldings, but we finally got his lead level down.
Agree with Pablo: all the kidproofing is done in stages later.

You're going to be SO FRIGGIN TIRED
I thought of saying this, but figured that there's nothing you can do about it. Though I suppose you might be able to save-up some vacation time at work, so that you can take the afternoon off and sleep now and then. I know with ours, I took naps at work, 'cause it just wasn't going to happen at home.
A big congrats
(we need a cigar smoking emotion)
congrats jango!!!!!!! when i move back to louisville in 9 months i will buy you the biggest cigar ever :thumb:
Sounds great. I have a friend in pharmacy school at Lexington and we plan to ride in that area this summer. We will skip over to Louisville when we do, just let me know when you are around.
wellll since nobody else has said it yet
Begun the clone war has! lol
LMAO  That was priceless! I never thought of it that way. Good one.
