Title: bottom end of a gs

would the bottom end of a gs be able to handle alot more power? like 70-80hp?

Depends on what you mean by handle it and for how long.

The cranks are known to break, I've broken a couple over the years racing them, my good friend Rich has broken more then that but he has had more practice :)

a few pointers, have your big bore pistons lightened as much as possible, Revs and piston weight are crank killers so try to center your power spread below max revs. I'm not sure what my GS450 is putting out right now but should know this time thurs nite as I'm taking for a few dyno runs at 10 am in the morning.

Its a GS450/499, HMF pipes, old yosh cams(not made anymore) sky high compression, 37mm CR' carbs but the head is only mildly done so there is still alot to be had I hope. I'll post an update later.
