Title: Neon Yellow Does Not = Clear
Post by: Fry on May 06, 2011, 03:07:33 PM
Neon yellow does no equal clear fuel lines, WTF...

I ordered Clamps too big to use for my harness, WTF...

K+N Fuel Filter is ridiculously small, inlet sizes are correct but boy is it tiny and I sense it will hurt flow, WTF....

Bottom line, I suck....

Can't imagine it hurting flow, the filter that went in the stock airbox was pretty sad looking so anything's gotta be an improvement.

Is the yellow hose the "fuel safe but not Tygon" stuff you ordered from E-bay?

Funny it didn't match the pictures.

I've actually never seen fuel-safe clear line that's not either yellow or blue tinted...

Those K&N fuel filters will cause fuel starvation at high rpms and when the fuel level drops. They're designed for systems with small fuel pumps in the 2psi to 7psi range.

Any recommendations for a good In Line F. Filter?

I use a clear plastic one designed for V twin lawn and garden tractors for 1/4 inch hose. They're between $3 and $6 depending where you get them.Lowes and Northern Tool had them.Any place that has lawn and garden equipment usually stocks them.

I haven't used one like that. The ones I use have a stack of brass screens. If you try one let us know how it works.I may go for one.I threw my old one out last week when I started the tear down of my bike to clean it up and out. It's sat for two years and I am really given her a check up and cleaning.

Cone o' stone! I use those on my bikes. My GS500E has one and is fine, including at interstate speeds.
