Title: 90 GS500 Won't Start
Post by: enb768 on May 15, 2011, 08:30:47 PM
I was riding home in the rain today and everything was great. I made a stop about 25 mins into riding and when i went to stop the bike sputtered a biy then it died. When i went to srart it again it made a weird clicking noise. I first though it was coming from the crankcase but when i got it home i pulled off the tank and the valve cover and found the cam chain loose and when i went to crank it it would tighten back up. There is good fuel and good spark. there is no compression at all. any help would be great.

that is a link to a video i made to show what the bike is doing

thanks guys

Cam chain tensioner spring broken.  That would be nice.

Try search. But not the search box on the right. Use the search "tab" above. "cam tension adjust" our "CCT adjust"

You got 2 separate things going on. First you got a dead battery after 25 mins of running.
Then there is the loose cam chain tensioner.
Cool.
